South Africa

I'm back in the UK after modelling in sunny South Africa which was FANTASTIC! During my time there I modelled for Africa Fashion International launch show which was attended by NBA star Kobe Byant and held at the prestigious Sandton Convention Centre. I modelled for top South African designers during South Africa Fashion Week 2010.

I did a playsuit story for top South African magazine True Love's December 2010 edition. I really had a amazing time at the shoot, the location was great and the team were so friendly and welcoming. I got another fashion feature in Destiny Magazine which is another great South African women's mag.

Nightlife was pretty incredible. There are some great clubs in SA and the local house music was very impressive. I attended a fabulous cocktail event thrown by GQ magazine, the editor was there as well as football players who were in town for the World Cup.

Pride Magazine - July 2010 edition

I am currently in Pride Magazine July 2010 edition. Pride is the leading magazine for women in colour in the UK and I was pleased to be featured in a double page spread! I appear on pages 28 to 29 modelling the latest swimwear from High Street brands such as Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Schuh, Figleaves and Accessorize.

I had such a great time at the shoot, modelling the various bikinis and swimming costumes and the Pride team were so much fun. Looking forward to doing it again!

Pride is available from WH SMith and various newsagents across the country!

Oh Yes Magazine Cover and Pride Magazine spread

Last week, I booked two magazine jobs. The first was for the cover of Oh Yes magazines’ July edition. I will be gracing the front cover with 2 other models.

The second was for Pride Magazine’s new shopping page which will be out next month! I was modelling swimwear from a variety of high street and designer stores.

Cannes Film Festival 2010

The Cannes Film Festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the world! I have always wanted to attend this magnificent event and was overjoyed when I was invited to the 63rd Cannes Film Festival.

Cannes is an absolutely beautiful city and it was even better than I had ever imagined! I would describe it as the ‘French Miami’ but with even more glamour and sophistication.

I arrived in Cannes on the Friday and I was immediately whisked off to a prestigious dinner at the grand Carlton Hotel. After that I attended the Abu Dhabi beach party which was buzzing with Hollywood’s movers and shakers. There were several producers and directors in attendance as well as A-lister’s Eva Longoria and Naomi Campbell.

The following day I headed down to the beach –the weather in the south of France is just gorgeous. I spent the evening at an exclusive party on a luxury yacht. There were 3 levels on the yacht – on the first level there was a dining and living area, on the second level there was a bar and on the top there was a Jacuzzi! After the party I headed to Jimmyz - a famous and popular nightspot in the French Riviera. We skipped the queue and were escorted to our table in the VIP area. The champagne was flowing and I had a fantastic night.

The Cannes Film Festival was truly an experience that I will never forget and I can’t wait for next year’s and hopefully I will actually be walking down the red carpet at Cannes.......... :)

The X Factor and Children In Need Rocks

I was in the backing choir for Leona Lewis at Children In Need Rocks 2009 at the Royal Albert Hall. It was an amazing experience to be on the stage, the energy from the crowd was electric.

I was also in the backing choir for The X Factor. I have to say that The X Factor was one of the funniest jobs I’ve ever done! Everyone backstage was so lively and the energy was incredible. I met some many people including Queen, Mariah Carey, George Michael, Nick Cannon and all the judges. After we performed at the final for Joe McElderry, we got off the stage and was greeted by none other than Paul McCartney. He was so pleasant, he shook all of our hands as we got off the stage!

OH TV Commercial - I AM HISTORY

Last October I featured in a specially commissioned brand film for a Sky Channel in Europe called OH TV (Sky Channel 199) titled ‘I AM HISTORY’ to promote Black History Month. The finished product was fantastic and had a futuristic theme; the strap line for the brand film was ‘my story, your story, OUR STORY.’
